- Comments and insights on the name Casey
I like Casey a lot better as a boy's name than as a girl's name. I've always thought Casey as a girl's name was really white-trashy, but as a boy's name quite smart and cute. It's strange how much different my mental images are: A woman Casey in my mind is grossly over weight living in a trailer with a bunch of children she had in her teens each by a different father who swears at strangers, but a man Casey is a well groomed and pleasant young man who holds the door open for strangers.
- Personal experiences with the name Casey
This is my son's name, born 1980. He disliked his name when he was younger because it can be a girl's name also. Please consider this before naming your son this. His nickname is Case.

Suck it up. My name is Casey, I'm a proud of the name. I was teased by bullies about a number of things, last of which was being a boy with the name Casey. These experiences develop character. Not liking ones name says a lot more about the environment and mental conditioning (lack of self-confidence/self-esteem) of the child. I would focus on that not changing their name or coming up with a nickname.

I love my name, personally. I've been Casey and I've only met one other girl whose name was Casey, but lots of boys.- Nicknames for Casey
