We named our son Dmitri in 2005, wanting something "unique" for him as his dad and I have very common first names. He regularly gets compliments on his name, both from other kids as well as adults. In spite of our ethnicity being neither Greek or Russian it goes very well with his cleverness, dark hair, and mixed complexion.
My friend is named Dmitri and he goes by Dima. He is the funniest person I know, and he's really good at poker. He has two older brothers: Nikolai and Ruslan. I think his family is originally from Moscow.
