I'm a woman, but my middle name is Don. It's been in the family for generations, and comes from the Latin word Domina, which means Lady (as in the title). I feel like it balances out my first name really well and I love the strong, sexy, confident image it brings to my mind. I can totally see using it as a first name for a girl. The only complaint is that people usually assume it's d-a-w-n, which is a fantastic name, but not mine lol.
