- Personal experiences with the name Gordon
My father's name was Gordon which he chose for himself at about the age of ten when his family moved to a new town. He died when I was a young teenager. Later I chose this name for my own son, the first male grandchild in the family.
My husband name is Gordon, I prefer his middle name Mark. I felt Gordon was such a old name for a young person of 19 when we met. His grandfathers name was Gordon also. We gave one of our sons Gordon as a middle name
I named my little boy Gordie and I love the name! It is so unique and identifying to him. He is popular because his name is different but old world at the same time. I named him after my husbands uncle who tragically died young and my brother in law who is a good man. I don't think it is a name that sounds old at all!
My father is named Gordon, but goes by Gordy. When he and my mom first met my mother thought, "Gordy? who would name their kid Gordy?" but then she fell in love with him, and now she loves the name.
