- Personal experiences with the name Troy
My son born in 2011 is named Troy. My husband and I love it b/c it's uncommon but not made-up. He's such a happy kid!
I think it's a fine, all-around nice name for a boy.
Our son also born in 2011 is called Troy. I love the name and always have from a young age. Strangely I ended up marrying a Troy so I didn't think I would get to use it but when he arrived looking just like his dad he became another little Troy. I haven't heard of many younger Troys around these days so it's not super common but still known. He gets Troy boy or Troysie mainly for nick names.
Our Troy was born in 2014. We choose this name for its masculine sound and because we wanted a short first name. We get a lot of compliments on his name and we love that it is a well known name, without being too popular. We swore we wanted a short name so there would be no nicknames, however, we still find ourselves and others calling him T-Roy or Troy Boy.

-We called him Troyzie when he was a toddler but now it's turned into Troysio. Mainly because Dad's goes by his middle name which is Troy and we had to differentiate or people would call him "little Troy"
