- Comments and insights on the name Ava
I love the name Ava, it's so cute and fits any nationality. My daughters name is Aveline, we call her Ava.
Ava is an absolutely adorable name! It's a short, sweet name that can still sound great for an adult. Ava has risen in popularity tremendously in the last few years, but the popularity hasn't taken anything from the name. Ava is just a beautiful name!
I know an Ava who is in hr 40's and she's not a nice person.
Ava is a Persian name. I am Persian myself and I am sure about this. Ava is a beautiful name in Persian which means 'nice sound' or better to say 'sweet melody'. It is a popular name among modern Persians.
According to the baby name book "Cool Names" by Pamela Redmond Satran and Linda Rosenkrantz, Ava is 'cool', while Avery is 'cooler', and Avis is 'uncool'. Ava is also #2 on the list of top 100 cool baby names for girls in this book.
Ava is a cute name, but it's getting WAY too common.
Ava is an okay name. It's not nearly as pretty as Eva or Avery.
I personally like Avery better.
I'm not crazy about Ava, I don't know why, just not
- Personal experiences with the name Ava
I know a little Ava who is absolutely adorable, and she couldn't be any sweeter. Anytime I think Ava, I think sweet.
In Spanish class in 6th grade, the teacher had us choose our own Spanish names, or we could translate our own name into Spanish. My name is Havilah, whish is NOT Spanish at all, so she suggested Ava, and I really like the name. I think the name is very pretty and adorable.
I have 3 month old tripets named "Ava-lee" "Darley-mae" & "Justin-drew" I also have a niece named Ava who turned 1 yesterday.
Does the name Ava have anything to do with aviation? I know of a guy who was totally into aviation and named his daughter Ava because he said it meant "winged".
Grandma was called Ava Jane because she refused to answer without her middle name and used it as part of her first name. My whole family pronounces it as "Ah-vuh" because of her and to my ears "Ay-vuh" sounds like it should be spelled as Eva (plus "Ay-vuh" Jane sounds a lot harsher and harsh is about the opposite of my grandma). I would consider naming a little girl Ava Marie (got Grandma's name, my middle name which is after my aunt Mary, the beautiful song played at my other grandmother's funeral and my sister's wedding, and the name of the childcare center that holds some really happy memories all in one).
I know a little Ava who is 4 and is one of the cutest little girls I know! She has an older sister named Antonia who is 15 and gorgeous!
I babysit a 3-year-old girl called Ava. She's an adorable little girl.
I always loved the name Ava because of the classic movie star Ava Gardner. A few years ago I saw a little girl with the name Ava and excitedly asked the mother if she liked old movies. She looked incredibly confused. Later I realized that it was the new trendy name. It still bums me out that the majority of the people naming their daughter Ava have never seen an Ava Gardner movie. :(
I heard that Ava Gardner was a great actress, but not a nice person in real life, she had a terrible temper and would use physical force, and she was married several times, once to Frank Sinatra.
My name is Ava and I love my name and names similar too it like Avis, Avery, Aviva e.c.t I am eleven but whenever I tell people my name they say "Oh it's way too common" but it wasn't when I was born!!
I know an Ava who is in her 40's and she's not a very nice person.
