I have something of a soft spot for this name. It'd definitely be a cute name for a May baby. I like the literary connection and that it's a fun take on a gemstone name. I definitely like it more than Esme. That said, I think it's a little too much of a name - maybe it's too long, maybe it's too exotic. Unless you're from a Spanish speaking family, it would be a hard name to use, at least in the states. I guess I'd call it a guilty pleasure name.
